Profiteering Through Fraudulent Planning: Secure Justice Against Unlawful Evictions

The Government must introduce mandatory authentication checks in the planning system and courts to prevent falsified documents being accepted as evidence. Matthew Pennycook MP, Steve Reed MP, and Keir Starmer MP should ensure that company details and planning applications are properly verified before they can be used to pursue possession. I respectfully ask that my case be investigated and my name be cleared as a result of being a victim of this legal loophole.
Why is this important?
This campaign matters because the current lack of authentication in planning and court processes allows falsified documents to be accepted as fact in the courtroom.
I have first‑hand experience of this injustice: my son and I were denied peaceful enjoyment of our home for five years, and when I ran out of capital to afford legal representation, we lost both our home and sole livelihood through our family‑run small business.
Whilst gathering evidence for trial I have devised a simple five‑step authentication process called ‘TRUTH’ to protect tenants.

THE TRUTH VERIFICATION PROCESS
A simple 5‑step check to help protect you from unfair eviction
Track - Request a full copy of the planning application (if there is one) and all documents connected to why you’re being evicted.
Research - Look up the names of people or companies involved on Companies House. Landlords can form bogus companies they only use when evicting you.
Understand - Check websites, social media and professional directories to confirm who they are. Landlords can clone real companies.
Trace - Compare company details, logos, addresses and online information for anything unusual. Landlords can produce false company documents to pass as genuine.
Help - If you’re unsure about a document, contact the company or person named to confirm it’s real. If your case is going to court, you may choose to ask an expert witness to check the documents, if that’s something you can afford. Landlords can also ask friends or family with businesses to support their eviction.
NEED FOR REFORM
NEED FOR REFORM
My providing proof of my landlords’ fraud as evidence in court was not enough to prevent our eviction, and their blatant contempt of court was overlooked. This is why reform is required.
Despite still being tenants under a valid lease until we moved out, my son and I were made temporarily homeless when our landlords withheld keys and denied us access to our home and belongings. My court application for intervention was refused unless I paid fees upfront, even though I qualified for a full fee exemption. My application for appeal has also been thrown out.
The loophole enables profiteering from unlawful evictions, stripping people of their homes and livelihoods while eroding trust in justice. Without reform, anyone can be targeted by fraudulent claims, leaving families vulnerable and landlords enriched and emboldened.
By joining this petition, you stand for fairness, accountability, improved scrutiny, and the principle that no one should profit from fraud. Together, we can demand change that protects tenants and small businesses who cannot afford representation, restores integrity in property law, and strengthens public confidence in the justice system. Closing this loophole will end profiteering from unlawful evictions, homelessness, small business closures and rebuild public trust.
