Protect our Green Belt
Remove the loopholes in the National Planning Policy Framework which allow clever lawyers to defeat the original object of the Green Belt.
Why is this important?
The Green Belt is a designated ring of countryside surrounding large urban areas such as London. The intention of the Green Belt legislation is to disallow building and thereby preserve our beautiful countryside heritage from the constant pressure to expand the urban area. Unfortunately, greedy developers and unscrupulous councils have found ways to circumvent the legislation to the effect that, in reality, the Green Belt no longer exists. Our countryside is now in serious danger. For the sake of our children and grandchildren we must not let them get away with it. Please sign this petition and write to your MP, or better still, visit him/her at their surgery.
