Re-open the lost views of London from Pole Hill
The historic, "stunning" according to The City of London, views from Pole Hill and the 1824 Meridian Line marker obelisk which was once visible from Greenwich Observatory, have been lost in the recent years due to tree growth.
The views should be re-instated by select pollarding and coppicing of the trees, which are all relatively recent and unplanted.

Why is this important?
The views into London from Pole Hill are unique and it is tragic that they have been lost and those from between Pole Hill and Greenwich along the Meridian are historically and internationally important.
Trees are very important for biodiversity and carbon capture, but selected pollarding and coppicing of young trees in a forest of the size of Epping Forest should not be a problem. It should be noted that historically trees were pollarded in Epping Forest and that is what is mainly being asked with this petition.
