Reduce pesticide residues in our food

The last government massively increased the levels of pesticides allowed in our foods. We should realign with EU standards to protect our children from unnecessary exposure to a cocktail of chemicals on their diet.

Why is this important?

It is impossible to quantify the risk from a cocktail of chemicals in our diet. In this situation we should adopt a precautionary approach and minimise them as far as practical.

EU standards are a sensible aim. We should not be exporting our pesticide footprint or importing food with more pesticides than we recently deemed safe.
