Reduce retirement age
To consider reducing the retirement age back to 65 for men and 60 or 62 for women so that the Generation Covid, graduates, and school leavers can occupy the jobs, as Covid has decimated the job market.
It would cost the government less than propping up business long-term and paying universal credit etc etc,

Why is this important?
It would give oppertunity to a beleagured younger generation. It would help the mental health of both the younger generation and those between 60 and 65 as they would feel valued. The younger generation are the nation's future and need hope, opportunity and purpose. Earning an income would mean they contribute to the economy.
Those at retirement can safeguard their health and have the time to help with child care volunteering etc
