To: The BBC must show that it supports free speech

Reinstate both Gary Lineker to match of the day and Richard Attenborough

Gary Lineker is a free individual and should be allowed to express his opinions of matters of public interest without fear of losing his job and Richard Attenborough should also be allowed to present all of his new series even if some on the political right will be offended by the truth.

Why is this important?

Freedom of speech and the expectation that the BBC will hold power to account are essential if we are to live in a free society. The current management of the BBC is no longer able to uphold these basic standards and must reverse both decisions to cancel two national treasures for speaking the truth to power.
