Reintroduce Driving and Topographical Knowledge Test
Reintroduce some sort of Driving Assessment and Topographical knowledge test for all hackney/private hire drivers before licenced in Wolverhampton.
Why is this important?
1) Well being of PUBLIC SAFETY such we carry vulnerable adults (lone women drunken people male and female also children. Drivers are seeing their earning potential being progressively eroded to the extent that service levels and PUBLIC SAFETY are being undermined totally.
2)Therefore the drivers have to work longer hours or more just to make ends meet. As well as being bad for their health, lack of rest and sleep puts lives at risk and again PUBLIC SAFETY being put at risk.
3)Drivers aim, through negotiation, not only to improve their living standards (many of them earn less than half the minimum wage on a self-employed basis) but also to raise standards, raise the profile of the trade and improve community confidence in the service they offer to the public 24 hours per day, 365 days a year.
