Replacing Inverkeithing High School - New Sports & Leisure Centre

Caledonia High School is due to open in Rosyth in August this year.

The question is, what do we replace the old High School in Inverkeithing with?

A new sports and leisure centre, a copy of the Michael Wood Sports and Leisure Centre, but here in South West Fife, the centre would feature the following facilities and would tie in with facilities already on offer in the Inverkeithing Wing, which would be upgraded to tie in with the new centre

A large-scale gymnasium with 90 workout stations
1 x 25m x 17m eight-lane competition standard swimming pool with a spectator gallery
1 x family fun leisure pool
1 x junior pool (using the already existing wing swimming pool)
1 x health suite featuring sauna and steam room
3 x large fitness studios(using the listed part of the old school and the wing)
2 x squash courts
1 x soft play zone
1 x climbing wall
1 x cafe

The outdoor facilities
1 x full-size synthetic turf pitch(covered)
3 x football-specific five-a-side

250 car parking spaces

Why is this important?

With a joint population of nearly 30,000 people in Rosyth, Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay and North Queensferry none of these towns has a swimming pool and the people of these towns have been crying out for a swimming pool for years.

Why not use the old Invekething High School to bring much-needed facilities to the area.

Having a new sports centre and leisure complex on the old high school site would help bring footfall and income to Inverkeithing after the new High School moves to Rosyth
