AYR: SAVE BUSY BEES NURSERY

As very concerned parent, onbealf of the Busy Bees Nursery parent body, I wish to kindly ask you to be actively involved in preventing the closure of this vital childcare service please.

Why is this important?

I am an Orthopaedic Surgeon in University Hospital, Ayr. My son has been attending the Ayr Busy Bees Nursery since the age of 08 months. He is now 5 years old. We as parents have been very appreciative of the care provided by the excellent staff in the above centre over the years.
On the 09th of June 2026, at approximately 9pm in the night, we received an email from the area manager of Busy Bees anouncing that the Ayr centre will be shutting down on the 31st of July 2026
This will lead to significant childcare issues for a large number of staff working in the Ayr Hospital and to parents using the nursery for childcare in South Ayrshire. The reasons quoted by the area director is far from being true and appears to be wordings from a standard email response.
The Ayr Busy Bees Nursery has been providing a caring, safe and trusted childcare service over the years and the sudden closure anounced just with 06 weeks notice is now causing considerable difficulties for parents who are mostly members of NHS staff in Ayr Hospital, to find alternative childcare in six weeks. This is also leading to redundency of qualified, well trained, caring and loving staff.
