Save East Hoathly from Over Development

To consider the impact that doubling the size of the village of East Hoathly will do to the community fabric of the village and to the reduction of green fields. To reduce the amount of new homes being forced upon the village. To consider the already stretched infrastructure: the primary school, the utilities - electricity and water, sewage issues, surface water issues, parking and traffic congestion. To stop the destruction of landscape and wildlife.

Why is this important?

The village of East Hoathly, many 100s of years old has a wonderful cohesive, diverse and vibrant community. We do not want to become a suburb of nearby towns which are themselves under threat of overdevelopment. We want to stay a village not become a small town and we want to preserve this village. The way of life will disappear completely if this is allowed to happen.

Thank you very much everyone. 200 signatures in about 36 hours. Brilliant. As Village Concerns has been reminded by a signature of this petition, East Hoathly is, in part, in this awful position because of Wealden's inability to have their Local Plan in place making us more vulnerable to developers. So the more we can express ourselves, the better.
