SAVE OUR TWO LOCKS GEESE

The petition is being submitted to Council

On the authorisation of Torfaen Borough Council, two of the geese that have lived on two locks amongst the local community, were bundled into a PEST CONTROL van and removed.
These geese are social creatures who have been used to living alongside people and other waterfowl companions. They are also only approx. 3 years old so hopefully have 15 + years to enjoy their lives.
The council are refusing to say where they have been taken.
The council have said that the new caretakers of the geese can do nothing with them for 14 days.
The council have said that they cannot say what will happen to the geese after the 14-day period.
We need evidence from the council that these geese are in a safe, permanent home receiving the companionship and care that they have had whilst living in the community.
Please sign this petition and share.
WE NOW ONLY HAVE DAYS TO SECURE THE WELLBEING OF THESE CREATURES
We the undersigned request that Torfaen Council
1. Supply evidence that the Geese have been placed in an appropriate environment and will continue to have access to other wildfowl & human contact, that they have been used to for the majority of their lives.
2. Failing this, arrange for the 2 geese to be placed into an appropriate environment as described in point 1, that will safeguard their future.

Why is this important?

These geese are social creatures who have been used to living alongside people and other waterfowl companions. The Council have not confirmed where they have been placed & we are unable to determine that it is an appropriate & safe place.
