Save The Bookworm Cafe @ Bargoed Library

The Bookworm Cafe has been an integral part of our community for over 4 years and was a social enterprise scheme. The public of Bargoed do not want to see another essential amenity snatched from them again. Our town has been neglected for over 30 years at the expense of investment in Caerphilly and Blackwood. We want to see The Bookworm open once again in its beautiful setting over the beautiful valley! This vitally important cafe was closed without any consultation with the public nor the town council. The borough council showed a total lack of respect for everyone who lives in and around Bargoed who used this wonderful community cafe!!!

Why is this important?

Many social groups gather here throughout the week such as :-
•those with learning difficulties
•mental health issues
•those of senior age
•those who are disabled
•the young
•etc etc
This is a place where a community gathers, all walks of life, no prejudices, just a place where everyone can make a friend and chat with a coffee and sandwich. This place is sadly missed by many people and is also a fabulous resource for the lonely and disadvantaged.
