Thank you so much for signing this petition, it was handed to the Mayor of Dawlish at yesterdays full council meeting (2/7/25). This petition has definitely raised awareness of how important the Newhay is to the community and that it would be devastating for us all to loose the use of it.
The majority of Dawlish councillors voted to apply to Teignbridge District Council for the Newhay to be registered as an Asset of Community Value, and for the Town Council to allocate up tp £12,000to undertake due diligence work in relation to the site.
A task and finish group has been formed to consult with the Diocese and the public about the future of this important space.
This petition will also be handed to Teignbridge Councillors as soon as we are invited to attend the next appropriate meeting.
Also, a big thank you goes to those that were able to attend the Council meeting and speak out to support the cause.

Save the Newhay (Glebe land) Dawlish
I am ending this campaign as it served its purpose by showing both councils how strongly the community feels about saving the Newhay.
A working party has been set up
by Dawlish town council to find a way forward.
