Save This Duffield Community Space!
St Margaret Clitherow church building and land on Hall Farm Road is to close, and the parish priest has recommended the diocese sell the building and land. Housing developers are likely to be interested, and if you would rather it be used as a community facility please sign this petition to support Duffield Parish Council in pursuing funding to acquire and manage St Margaret Clitherow as a village hall/community centre for the wellbeing and social interest of Duffield residents.
Why is this important?
Having a designated village hall/community centre is much more than bricks and mortar. It brings people together, to meet the needs of the community, to engage the community in projects , to socialise, educate , engage in physical , creative and educational activity, to make memories and friends. If it’s sold to housing developers , the chance is lost forever to create something special for our village in this space.
