Save "umbrella" workers from the NI storm

Many self-employed workers, such as cleaners, HGV drivers and IT consultants, work for "umbrella" companies.
They will pay NI rise twice: first as employees, and then again as employers. So a £500 NI rise for an employee will be £1000 for an umbrella company worker, who is in less secure employment. Why is this important?

People in insecure work should not be paying twice - and with the squeeze on living costs we will see more on lower pay forced into hardship and more on moderate pay forced into debt and maybe forced home-moves, with knock on effects for health - the very service we were raising this money to support.
