Scrap Standing Charges

Standing charges have risen beyond all that is reasonable. They were only ever supposed to be a temporary measure. Millions of people are suffering with prices across the board and even reducing their energy usage as much as possible. Yet despite this the energy companies are still charging daily for providing energy. It may be reasonable to charge a one off flat rate fee when an account is first set up (say £20 per fuel type), but after that there should be no more. The energy system in this country is skewed totally in favour of the energy providers. These firms are protected by Ofgem and it's time the balance shifted. The salaries of CEOs and top executives would be a place these firms could cut their costs. Ofgem have recently decided after a review, to increase standing charges yet again! This is unfair and unacceptable. Consumers should NOT bear all the cost of Network charges, nor all the costs of supplier failures. This unfair and unacceptable. Please do something to redress the balance and protect consumers

Why is this important?

Everyone is affected by this and it seems Ofgem is currently happy to just keep raising the charges. If we complain about it hopefully Ofgem will reconsider the decision to keep increasing our bills in this way.
