Speed limit on Buxton road in Leek

Buxton road in Leek has two senior residential homes, two kindergartens and two doctor’s practices on it, but there are no forced speed controls at all. Given that the elderly and young children are most susceptible to PM10 &PM2.5, it would make medical and fiscal sense to restrict vehicles to a forced 20 MPH limit on this stretch of road.

Why is this important?

By forcibly imposing a 20 MPH speed limit, we would in turn reduce pollution induced illnesses and thus reduce the pressure on the NHS and health budgets.
