Speed up Assessment for PIP payments

Having currently applied for PIP following a stroke, I have been informed by DWP that processing may take 4-5 months before a decision is made. This creates an unacceptable level of financial stress and insecurity at a time when people newly disabled are having enough stress dealing with significant life changing issues. Furthermore, the additional stress may serve to exacerbate their condition, create irreversible financial hardship and lead to a myriad of further unnecessary social and medical conditions. These decisions and processing time must be significantly reduced as people with life changing conditions should not be subject to additional hardship due to government incompetence or apathy.
