State Pension
The Old State Pension should be recategorised as an entitlement rather than a ‘benefit’ this would ensure that after contributing for 50 years it would be protected against any future attempt to means test the pension.
Why is this important?
Successive governments have been operating a PONZI scheme dishonestly taking our contributions to National Insurance into the Treasury instead of investing the pension element into a pension scheme thereby eliminating the requirement of current tax payers funding the Old State Pension.
All pensioners who retired before 2016 receive considerably less State Pension despite paying into the system for up to 50 years. This should at least be protected from any future means testing by changing it back to an entitlement not a benefit.
