Stop 300 Houses in Croft
Please secure the rural setting of Croft Village by preventing property developers building 300 new houses on our green fields
Why is this important?
The British countryside is disappearing due to development of green-field sites. This precious land will never return to it's original character.
Croft is being targeted by Bellway Homes as a high-profit piece of real-estate. They plan to build at least 300 houses on the fields between Abbey Close and Christ Church on Lady Lane and the landowner Adrian Marsh plans to sell his stud farm to make it all in to houses, with traffic via Deacons Close.
Peel Holdings are also targeting Croft. They have identified a huge swathe of countryside behind the General Elliot from near the Plough right across to Winwick. If these plans go ahead, instead of being a village, Croft will become a housing estate conjoining Winwick and Culcheth.
Even if we allow them to start building either of these plans, the more they build the less rural Croft becomes – this weakens our argument that Croft should keep it’s rural character.
Even putting village-life aside, the air quality, traffic congestion, crime-levels, speeding problem will get worse. The ecosystem will receive another blow as wildlife habitats are destroyed.
Sign this petition now and share it to people who care about the British countryside and those who have chosen to leave peacefully in a small English village.
We have until 29th September to object otherwise our silence is seen as an endorsement for the development.
