Stop Bad Law

Time to deliver it!!

In accordance with members of our current Parish Council, we believe the amendments made to the adopted Housing Policy (CH9) of our Neighbourhood Development Plan has caused confusion and is open to misinterpretation. The wording of the policy is poorly written, ambiguous and needs clarity. It is believed the original CH9 before the amendments, is more consistent with the original wishes of Parishioners and should be used going forward.

Why is this important?

A document which is supposed to inform future housing policy in our area should be clear and precise. Paragraph CH9 does not achieve this. If the wider community had been given the opportunity to engage at the time when the policy was amended, clarity would have been sought and a better outcome achieved.

I started this petition because:
On 16th. August, I wrote to the independent town planning consultants who were responsible for the text in CH9, who by the way, were paid a considerable amount of public money to write it. They have not replied.

We the parishioners have attended 3 Parish Council meetings to express our dissatisfaction with CH9. At the first meeting, the Parish Council unanimously agreed to add an addendum to CH9 to reflect the original. Since then, we have been shut down and ignored.
CH9 doesn’t need to be changed, it is so badly written it can be interpreted in any way, so it should be interpreted to reflect the original.

This is an example of an appalling waste of public money and those responsible not wanting to be accountable.
