STOP ELECTRICITY COMPANIES DOUBLING THE DAILY STANDING CHARGE

The electricity standing charge is doubling in April 2022 from 25.09p per day to 48.13p per day. This is unfair because customers are being charged much extra before using any electricity. There is no way to budget or save to avoid this charge. If house prices went up by an equivalent amount a £100,000 house would suddenly cost £191,829. That increase is no justifiable; the charge for companies that have gone bust and green energy should be put onto the tariff for use to enable people to really pay for what they use. I cannot think of any other fee that would be allowed to double in this way at very short notice. it is just unfair.
