Stop McDonald's Opening In Crediton
Crediton does not need a McDonald's. Crediton is a quaint Market Town, with many independent stores, and some fantastic independent eateries, pubs, cafe's restaurants, all serving burgers, including a fantastic burger van. How many more Mcdonalds must this country have? Time to say no, and stand up to these big business's, let's keep Crediton independent and local, let's be proud of our independent status, and lets continue to back local traders and local business's.
A McDonalds, will bring increased light pollution, increase exhaust pollution, litter problems always vastly increase, as does the noise, and anti-social behaviour, revving engines, untilnthe early hours etc...

Why is this important?
A McDonald's will have a huge impact on local independent eating establishments, this may be the final nail in many independent traders, due to loss of trade. This will have a domino effect on many local suppliers, as most of the independent traders use these for their produce. This will cause a loss in revenue to MDDC with more empty properties, meaning an increase in Council Tax, to offset that vacuum.
A McDonalds drive through will increase pollution, noise, litter, and anti-social behaviour. We have seen this happen in Tiverton, and you only have to look at the litter from various fast food outlets in Exeter along the A377 every weekend. It will also increase congestion on the A377 or A3072 depending where their 40 foot trailers come off the M5, which will also cause more damage to those roads.
Let's keep Crediton free of multinational companies, let's keep Crediton a haven for valued independent traders, who bring much employment, and help to keep many employed at local independent traders, such as M C Kelly, Chinns, Creedy Carver, the local bakeries, and local green grocers, as well as local farm shops Let's keep Crediton free of JUNK food, pumped full of various ingredients, 19 different ingredients go into the fries alone, this is easily googled, and has many video's on Youtube showing just what goes into the fries, and their other produce. Mcdonalds also destroys 4 miles of Amazon Rain Forest per day, again proof of this can be found easily on youtube, to make way for the farmland needed to grow the soya, all their establishments use worldwide, let's not let Crediton be part of that destruction.
