Stop Social Media Scammers

Make sure the Online Safety Bill holds social media companies accountable for crimes committed on their platforms.

Why is this important?

The Government is changing the law to help victims of fraud, but it fails to stop crime at the source. Innocent people’s bank details are being traded and sold on social media platforms like Telegram, but these companies are not held liable. The Online Safety Bill needs to be expanded to ensure that fraud victims receive compensation from the social media platform their bank details are sold on.
