Stop Subsidised Food and Alcohol for MPs
Stop Subsidised Food and Alcohol for MPs.
Why is this important?
In the year 2020/1 the cost to the taxpayer for food and drink (including alcohol) consumed in Parliament was over £9 million with £1.8 million being spent on ‘Banqueting’ alone.*
This in a time where NHS staff are using food banks and are charged to park in their own places of work. The fact that MP’s have decided that tax payers should subsidise their food and alcoholic drinks, without our direct consent, is utterly scandalous. End all food and drink subsidies to Parliament with immediate effect.

There is a cost of living crisis, one direct cause is the way that the government have behaved. People must not suffer further whilst parliamentarians enjoy cheap food in drink at our expense.
