Stop the Closure of Ecclestone Street Crown Post Office
This will be the third closure of a Crown Post Office in London so far this year, after Clapham Common and Southall. The Post Office management are using these closures to help pay for their legal costs, for their part in the Horizon scandal. The community and businesses are therefore further victims of Post Office managements handling of the scandal.
The CWU believe there should be an immediate stop to any Crown office closures whilst the Horizon inquiry is ongoing, an investigation into all the Post Office behaviours and the way in which the business is being run.

Why is this important?
The Post Office is a public company, owned by the Government. We are calling on the Government and the Post Office to halt their programme of closing Crown Post Offices
The closure will lead to:
The loss of service to the community
The loss of local knowledge and well trained, dedicated staff.
The loss of meaningful employment within the community
To support this 400 year old service, we are calling for the Government and the Post Office to sit down with unions, customers, businesses and the community to put together a fresh strategy that can also develop new services and safeguard its future
