Support university staff and students during COVID-19

As covid-19 continues to disrupt life across the country, we are committed to ensuring that univerity staff and students in Sheffield are treated fairly, with their safety being paramount.

Having spoken with staff and students throughout Sheffield and in solidarity with other university-focused groups across the country, we have proposed several simple, clear demands we feel the universities need to act upon:

Support to protect the wellbeing of staff and students
End tuition fees
Regular access to testing
No redundancies

We understand that in the midst of a second national lockdown it may be difficult for students to engage with groups in the form of physical protests and not everyone is able to participate in online meetings. The purpose of this petition is to gather support so we can put pressure on university management by showing that we demand to be listened to.
