Tenants rejection at proposed Parking Bay Paid Scheme

Letter to Network Homes Housing Association

In response to your letter dated 25th August 2022.

We, the Community tenants residing at Cherry Tree Close hereby object to the proposal to invoke a parking paid scheme within Cherry Tree Close.

As a neighbourhood community we organised a meeting and as a result determined, having sought legal advice and guidance and therefore concluded will take the initial action of a Community Petition against the proposed parking fee introduction and to that suggestion of the introduction of a Car Park Management Service which inherently levies yet more increased living cost on our Community which we deem totally unacceptable given our long standing community relationship and have amicably resolved any parking issue in the past.

As a Community most residing within Cherry Tree Close for over twenty+ years have a Community bonding relationship which we have formulated over the years as such in the past any parking issues we have localised, identified and resolved without the need for Network Housing intervention.

Therefore, as a close net neighbourhood community, We have identified the current issue and have approached the newly introduced tenant at number 3 Cherry Tree Close which was mistakenly thought as an outside resident hence she was challenged. The said matter has now been resolved given that our Neighborhood Watch Community nominated member has discussed the matter and her reported complaint to Network Housing.

May we take this opportunity to emphasize that the fees of increased service charges and Council Tax have steadily increased coupled with the increase in the cost of living electricity, water rates etc have impacted heavily on everyday living which have further impoverished the tenants and have had a devastating impact on vulnerable tenants.

As mentioned, we have resolved the parking issue as a long standing community taking matters into our own hands on occasions and ejecting cars that are parked from the other newly built Modular building on the Harrow Road and have ensured those residents outside Cherry Tree Close will no longer park in our Cherry Tree Close parking establishment.

Therefore as a Community of over 20+ years have mutually agreed it is no longer deemed necessary to evoke such parking arrangements given that we have now resolved this matter of parking as in truth given the above there is in fact sufficient tenant parking.

We simply ask that you randomly monitor the parking and you will determine and conclude the same given those tenants with vehicles that there is indeed sufficient parking with no requirement for bays or to inflict parking charges on a vulnerable community in a time of economic downturn and hardship in the significant in the cost of living.

As a solution, we the Cherry Tree Close resident Community would however like to use this opportunity to propose a gate at the entrance to the Close which would prevent further any outside residents from parking in the future.

We trust this is received well by upper management and that in good Landlord and Tenant relations we can live without provocation or stress that an introduction of such a parking facility would bring on our long standing Cherry Tree Close Community.

We have our nominated Community Member at number 19 Cherry Tree Close who will be happy to meet with the housing officer to further discuss this matter should it be required to resolve this said matter amicably with the Housing Association.

We trust you will acknowledge this communication response and act accordingly in our accordance and in conformity with our tenancy agreement and with consideration to the well-being of your tenants.

Thank you in advance for your valued reply, support and cooperation in this matter.

In addition, please escalate this matter to your senior management at Network Housing Trust.

We await your valued response.

Yours sincerely,

The Cherry Tree Neighbourhood Watch Community.

PETITION AGAINST PROPOSED PARKING BAYS AND THE INTRODUCTION OF CAR PARK MANAGEMENT LIMITED.

Why is this important?

We have been a Neighbourhood Community for over 20 years and we must prevent this method of imposing charges on those in hardship especially with the increase in cost of living during this economic downturn.

How it will be delivered
