UBER SHOULD TREAT ITS DRIVERS FAIR

Drivers on the UBER APP lose a lot of earnings through bogus, malicious and smearing - reviews that are made by the Riders. This must be stopped.

The majority of these are due to envy and jealousy, racial issues, stress or just someone having a silly joke. The problem is, Uber does not seem to know that a coin has two sides. They will block the Driver from earning at the moment they hear any bad review without making the effort to hear the side of the driver.

Uber will not even apologise after the two to three weeks or more they take purportedly investigate the matter when they find out that the review was simply not true. They will only allow the driver access back to the App.

The time of loss of earnings is not recovered at all. That is not fair to the drivers as they are also UK workers and taxi payers who have families to feed and bills to pay as any other workers. Riders say they get 50% discounts or money back every time they make a complaint about a driver who also is throwing petrol on fire.

Why is this important?

Having been an Uber driver for over six years, I cannot count how many times I have been blocked off for unthinkable reasons. Say, if you don't like music when driving and you tell the rider, once they step out, they write whatever they want about you and that is it. "A specialised team is investigating the matter" and it takes way too long.

Drivers work under unnecessary panic and duress making working with Uber such a worry-full experience. Many drivers I know have gone through ordeals with their working for things they can't comprehend at all. Many fear to make their voices heard and they soldier on with the gross unfairness at work plus the ever-challenging situations on the roads.

As drivers, we need to make our voices Heard. No one is going to pull our log for us as we look on. Let us put our experiences out for a better and fairer working environment. It starts with you, so help yourself and share your scenarios of unfair treatment in this kind of work.
