Waltham Forest - SAVE OUR ICE CREAM MAN - The Ridgeway Park

Save our Ice Cream man from losing his pitch. The council now want to put the site out to tender, despite him serving the local community for the last 19 years. He keeps his prices down so that families can enjoy a day out at the park.

Why is this important?

Mike Bell and his father have served ice-creams, hot dogs etc since 1996 at The Ridgeway Park in Chingford. He has a contract for his pitch with Waltham Forest Council, which is renewed every three years, this contract also included selling his ice-creams etc on Chingford Day. This year he was excluded from the park on Chingford Day but at the last minute, after pressure from the local press was allowed to sell outside the park.

He has been informed by LBWF Head of Parks that his pitch will be put out to tender. This means that the highest bidder will be awarded the site which in turn will mean higher prices to families to cover the increased fees of the pitch.

How it will be delivered

Email the signatures and if possible stage a press conference via the local paper
