WE SUPPORT THE 40!
Mr Cryer, we wish you to pass on to the Parliamentary Labour Party our expression of deep disappointment with the conduct of certain individual members in their relentless attempts to undermine their democratically elected Leader; thereby destabilising the Party and denying vulnerable communities effective representation at a time when people are experiencing the damaging effects of the Tory Government's austerity policies.
Why is this important?
We condemn the frenzied bullying of those MPs who have chosen to honour their commitment to the democratic processes of the Party and demonstrate their loyalty to Jeremy Corbyn, by refusing to sign the recent motion of no confidence.
We recognise the unprecedented anger and distress this situation has caused and we pledge our unequivocal support to the 40 members of Mr Corbyn's team who, like him, have been subjected to unacceptable levels of criticism and abuse.
We would reassure those members that in the face of the hostility of their colleagues, their position is honourable and reflects the views and concerns of the wider party.
We thank them for their courage and determination in responding to the wishes of the members and protecting the integrity of the Party during this difficult time.
