We Want Puy du Fou UK
We would like Cherwell District Council to vote in favour of the award winning Puy du Fou building a new UK park in Oxfordshire, retelling British history through incredible shows.
The £600 million investment, bringing 13 live shows and 4 period villages, 2000 direct jobs and 6000 indirect jobs, a 50 acre new forest with 20,000 new trees, over 5 miles of new hedgerow and 40 acres of species rich wildflower meadow would be a tremendous asset to the area and the UK.

Why is this important?
Puy du Fou has been voted best international theme park twice. It would be a huge benefit to the local community in terms of bringing extraordinary new jobs (artisnal crafts, costume making, stage design, IT and engineering roles) to the area as well as providing a wonderful historic and educational amenity for locals.
In addition, from their existing parks in France and Spain they have shown that for every £1 spent in Puy du Fou, £3.20 will be spent in the local area outside the park - reaching £500m annually by year 10.
Puy du Fou have already demonstrated their commitment to the local area by partnering with Banbury and Bicester college to help train the new staff for the park and offering a range of job opportunities for older workers.
Along with the outstanding historic and cultural input of the shows to the locale, Puy du Fou takes its environmental credentials very seriously and aims for 50% of all daytime visitors to arrive via sustainable transport, principally by rail. In addition they will provide a staff shuttle service from Bicester, Oxford and Banbury.
Road improvements to the current infrastructure will also be made, although the park shows will only open April - October.
Their creation of the first new forest in Oxfordshire for generations alongside other measures, adds up to a total net gain of biodiversity to the area of over 10% - in excess of council policy. They will also be using energy efficient materials alongside renewable energy generated on site.
Quite simply, this is the opportunity of a lifetime for the local area and it would be a tragedy for this chance to be lost.
