INSTALL SOLAR PANELS ON NEW HOUSES

Urge developers to install solar panels on all new buildings.

Why is this important?

New electric vehicles and heat pumps are demanding more and more electrical generation. New electric vehicles and heat pumps are demanding more and more electrical generation. Solar panels on houses and businesses could provide this, but at this time new houses are not being fitted with them; there is no requirement. This is clearly a missed opportunity. Installing Solar panels during construction is clearly easier and cheaper than retrospectively. Electrical generation at the home where electric vehicles are charged and heat pumps are to be located avoids transmission losses and more power station generation. Once connected solar panels immediately combat climate change. So we ask that legislation or regulation be initiated without delay to install solar panels and storage batteries on all new housing.

Action is needed by government to compel developers to install solar panels on new buildings. MPs have been contacted but no action has resulted. A concerted action by large numbers of people could result in a change of government policy. The need is urgent - the climate emergency demands action now.
