38Degrees Harrow, Sunday Best, Oddfellows, 22nd April

Please click on the attendance icon if you can make it this on Sunday.
Another month and a lot has happened and, curiously, some things haven't happened. For instance, some months ago, on behalf of 38 Degrees Harrow, I wrote to the Chief Executive of the London North West NHS Trust asking about staffing and Brexit and I have yet to receive an acknowledgement of receipt, let alone a substantive response. How to respond to the non-response will be up for discussion. The state of our local NHS is clearly linked and perhaps we can widen the issue to look at the funding shortfalls and its consequences.
The issue of local government pension schemes and the divestment from fossil fuel heralds some good news - the Harrow Labour 2018 manifesto has committed to do this and the ramifications of this should provide an interesting discussion.
Speaking of the local elections in Harrow, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of hustings going on. Linda has heard from Emma that Harrow MENCAP have one planned rather late in the day on 1st May. I have emailed MENCAP for further and better particulars an hope to let you know. By all means, provide us with some questions for candidates - if we can find a hustings, then we should go and put our wannabe-councillors on the spot just to remind them that the electorate actually exists.
Segue-ing nicely from the local to the international, the issue of a 2nd referendum on the details of any Brexit deal is on the cards and if anyone feels that our local representatives should be apprised of our views, we can discuss how best to inform them.
If any of you have any issues that you wish to raise , please post a reply.
