Ratcatcher's Day in Pinner
We are meeting this month on the celebratory Ratcatcher's Day, according to Robert Browning at least, in the lovely medieval town of Hamelin. While we won’t be expecting any rodents at the Oddfellows, we are likely to be mentioning that presidential rat from the USA who came over last week wreaking chaos and carnage in his wake as well as the increasingly verminous plague that is Brexit.
As I write, we are effectively without a functioning government as Brexit derails, disrupts, diverts and dismays all the pressing problems that would in normal times preoccupy a Government long into the night but are sidelined and overlooked. So, is there another election round the corner? And how should we prepare?
According to our 38-degrees-harrow page, we have 46 members but we don't get that level of attendance. Can I ask you to reply to me or Linda to let us know if you are still interested in our group so we can update the records, please.
We are meeting at the usual venue, the Oddfellows Arms , at the usual time, not a rat in sight. Tick attending button if you are coming. Thanks.
