A Hospital Ship for the UK

To consider the construction of a British hospital ship in accordance with international requirements. Something this country does not have.

Why is this important?

At present the Royal Navy supplies Royal Fleet Auxiliary Argus to help at times of natural disasters. This is a military casualty ship. not totally suitable for such work which will retire in a few years time. A UK hospital ship would fill an ongoing need, demonstrated by recent events in the Caribbean. In addition she would promote British values world wide. What better time than now to begin work?
