A school is a school not an office
The recently established dress code in our sixth form is absolutely unnecessary and does not pay attention to the feeling of responsibility which should be felt by youth at this age. Sixth formers are getting ready for adulthood and university life when they will have to think on their own. Naturally, there is always a need to maintain the professional atmosphere in any school, yet when the emphasis of attention shifts from studying to the attire of students, something is definitely wrong here. Moreover, the establishment of this policy may lead to financial difficulties among some students and their families. So I would like to return to our original dress code.
Why is this important?
I feel like my freedom to express myself has been restricted and it we will be reluctant to stay after school to revise as the dress code is very restrictive and generally uncomfortable. This makes the usual casual school environment feel like an office environment that makes some feel uninspired to learn. Also, the unaffordability of formal clothing in this economy makes it unsuitable for every party involved, unless the academy is willing to fund this new dress code not everyone will be able to afford it. If it isn't broken don't fix it .
