Action for Twyford Road/LidL roundabout

Take action to make the roundabout safer Its too congested.

Why is this important?

Many drivers find it takes far too long to get onto the roundabout from the M & S Exit and end up making a ''mad dash'' for it making it dangerous for everyone using the roundabout. Proper road markings would give drivers clearer indication which lane they should be in.

The roundabout has heavy use. There are two exits using the M3 and M27 and another also using the Motorway plus the train station and the Airport. Tailbacks are causing frustration.

An accident occurred with a truck and bicycle a while back and we feel its now time to take action for the safety of everyone who uses it. i.e. pedestrians, bicycles, disabled wheelchair users, HGV and other vehicles.

This roundabout was deemed 'dangerous' by a County Councillor in 2016 and yet nothing has been done. We are now awaiting a response from HCC and Mimms Davies, our local MP>

We are awaiting a reply from HCC as to how they intend to deal with this issue and will post updates here as soon as we have news.

I'M PLEASED TO SAY ... that we've now received confirmation from Mimms Davies, our local MP to say that she is going to have discussions with Hampshire County Council about this issue to see what can be done, so keep signing the Petition, if you also feel strongly about the safety of those who use it.

The roundabout in the Town Centre may have worked perfectly 10 years ago but is way too congested now, seeing the tailbacks at peak times and also with the knowledge that another 700 HOUSES ARE PLANNED FOR OUR AREA. GOODNESS !

I feel we can't just continue to let the powers that be turn a blind eye to what is happening. So, THANKS to all who have made a special effort to support this issue and keep up the great work. Spread the word if you feel so inclined. We need to put the pressure on. But this is a GOOD START !
