Make all Rainham buses stop at the train station

We, the undersigned, call on the Mayor and Transport for London to direct the 287, 372, and165 buses that travel through Rainham Village, Essex, to stop at the Rainham Interchange bus stop (outside Rainham station).

Why is this important?

There is currently only one bus (103) that operates directly outside of Rainham Essex c2c rail station, however there are three other buses that operate in the local area.

Therefore, we want the Mayor and Transport for London to direct the 287, 372, and 165 buses to stop at the Rainham Interchange bus stop (outside Rainham station).

This new bus route will enable people to more easily change between buses and the train, at any time of the day. By introducing this additional bus stop, it will connect the 287, 372, and 165 buses to the 103 and provide those with specific mobility requirements with better access to different modes of transport.

In addition to the station, the bus stop also directly serves Rainham Library and its nursery so the justification for better connections to it seems overwhelming. This bus stop also has better shelter for people to stand under in bad weather than Rainham War Memorial (D) bus stop, which all buses currently stop at.

Residents and commuters will have a direct route towards the station and back home without having to walk through the dark, in bad weather, or out of their way to another bus stop. This will reduce the number of local and short car journeys that drop off and pick people up from the station.
