Enter into an NHS Covenant covering the following areas –
Reinstatement of the Nurses’ Bursary.
For all NHS staff, a triple lock salary increase of the higher of Retail Price Index and Average Earnings Growth each plus 1% or 3% guaranteed for five years.
Staffing levels to be significantly increased, including by special immigration arrangements.
A commitment to introduce new arrangements for social care within two years, in consultation with opposition parties. The arrangements should significantly improve the pay and conditions for care workers and resolve the payment system made by the elderly towards their care.
Why is this important?
The NHS is a vital national institution which has been neglected in recent years due to austerity. there needs to be a legally based plan going forward. social care needs to be resolved in parallel
