Superb news! As we raised in the Veterans APPG yesterday!

Another great example of collaborative working across GDs, Def Sec, Home Sec and Min OVA.

Previously, non-UK troops were given only six weeks to apply for leave-to-remain status and had to pay all of the fees.

Under the new plans

1. Troops will have the last two years of their service to ensure all the necessary paperwork is completed.

PLUS

2. Have the costs of applying to settle in Britain waived.

It will reward those who've served in Army, Royal Navy or RAF for at least 12 years.

The breakthrough follows a high profile court case involving eight Fijian troops..

Thank you to eveyone supporting and signing the petition, all of which helped to make this change happen.

BUT

Still work to be done. This does not help the Op COURAGE NHS Veterans Mental Health High Intensity Service for suicidal ideation cases for Veterans with less than 12 yrs service. So please keep up the pace!
