Asda Southgate stop your supermarket trolleys from leaving your Store!

Implement measures to prevent supermarket trolleys being taken from your store and subsequently abandoned on the streets of Southgate N14 in Enfield.

Why is this important?

Asda Southgate / Asda stores Limited,

Local residents in Southgate N14 appreciate Street Furniture just like any other community. We like the slick black lamp post that emits light, the trees and their wild branches, the telegraph pole, the road with single yellow lines, double yellow lines, no lines, even the block concrete paving that I walk on each day with hundreds of other local residents.

Local residents in Southgate do not appreciate this season's "Must Have" Street Furniture: Your Shopping Trolleys.

Trolleys left on our pavement are:-

1. Unsightly for all local residents and visitors to the area
2. Dangerous to parked cars
3. Dangerous for oncoming traffic with Strong Winds
4. Dangerous for children or teenagers (in some cases adults) who may be tempted play with them as "Battering Rams" damaging cars and property

You could consider implementing the following measures:

1. Install the device many supermarkets use to stop trolleys from moving if they reach the perimeter of your store
2. Install coin operated devices to deter customers from wheeling the trolleys straight out of your store
3. Remove faulty trolleys (ones with faulty coin operated devices or device that does not stop the trolley when perimeter breached) so they can't be taken out of the store
4. Have staff monitor exits (or Cameras) to stop customers wheeling your trolleys out
5. Put posters up to inform Customers it is inconsiderate to wheel trolleys out and dump them on the streets of Southgate
6. For problem areas such as my road send your contractor out everyday to remove these trolleys until the above measures work not once a week or once or every two weeks.

I have written to your Southgate Store Manager, spoken to various Managers in the Store and Asda Staff (most of which have been sympathetic and most recently received a reply from Andy Clarke's office informing me initiatives have started but I've seen zero improvement.

The four trolleys I reported on 20th May are still outside on the Street and there are many more littered in and around your store.

Residents in Southgate do not appreciate this Street Furniture. Please do something about it.

How it will be delivered
