Understandably, the government apparently want people to work, due to the amount of benefits people receive, so therefore introduced the benefit cap! Rather than reducing amount of monies and leaving innocent families in poverty, individual assessments should be done. Those who cannot work, due to illness, disability maybe to themselves or children, should have more support, those who can work put in plans for childcare so return to work is an easier option for them. At the moment single parent families have that in place, but joint parenting families cannot work due to rising costs of childcare, leaving no option but to claim benefits, a single wage is still not enough to support a family.
