Boycott the Eurovision Song Contest
Calling all fans of the EuroVision Song Contest! PLEASE write to the BBC to state that you will NOT be watching the EuroVision Song Contest due to the Human Rights violations which are occurring in Palestine. Demand that the BBC tells the Israeli Government to IMMEDIATELY stop the violations against Palestinian people and start genuine talks for peace.
Why is this important?
Our UK Government is not making it clear to the Israeli Government that their actions are unacceptable and will not be tolerated by the UK public. As the Eurovision Song Contest is being hosted in Israel this year, it seems appropriate for us to boycott it, even if only to put pressure on both the UK Government and the BBC to take a stance against these Human Rights violations.
How it will be delivered
I will email a copy of the list of signatures to the BBC and to Jeremy Wright Minister for Culture, Media and Sport. I will also email a copy to the BBC and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
