Save Lynton House Surgery - New Health Centre needed

This Petition calls for Lynton House Surgery to remain and for Bucks County Council, Primary Care authority and NHS England to fund the delivery of a new Health Centre to meet the needs of Ryemead and Micklefield residents in the east end of High Wycombe.

Why is this important?

There are plans to close Lynton House Surgery on London Road High Wycombe and relocate to a unit in Wycombe Hospital whilst reducing appointments in the hospital surgery. Where possible they will be pushing patients to their Cressex Surgery - A 2 bus journey for many patients!

The Big Issue is....
There is a notable shortage of Doctors Surgeries in the east end of High Wycombe. If Lynton House Surgery closes and moves out of Ryemead there will be no local practice in the area . We already have a shortage of doctors in High Wycombe and this is a serious problem in the East end of High Wycombe We are faced with a housing explosion in the east end of High Wycombe and we are faced with several Doctors practices in the Wycombe area not taking new patients.

We need Lynton House Surgery to remain and for Bucks County Council, Primary Care authority and NHS England to step forward and fund the delivery of a new Health Centre to meet the needs of Ryemead and Micklefield residents in the east end of High Wycombe. We are 3 doctors short in High Wycombe already!

How it will be delivered

The Petition will be delivered to Bucks County Council, NHS England, Bucks Primary Care authority (Chiltern CCG) and Cressex Health Centre

Lynton House Surgery was marked for closure and not fit for purpose. However will have some refurbishment in January 2017.
The great news is Lynton House will stay and until we have a new Health Centre for East Wycombe. Where this will be is yet to be determined. When will it be delivered is unknown?
The pressing issue we face is there is a critical shortage of doctors and health services to the east of High Wycombe.

I attended positive meeting with BCC health scrutiny Committee this week and presented case for keeping Lynton House until Chiltern CCG submit and secure funding for east wycombe health centre . They agreed to take this up and write to Chiltern CCG .They also voiced concerns about the Lynton House consultation

I have asked the Chiltern CCG have they submitted application for funding for surgery in East Wycombe
NHS England says Funding from 2016/17
In October 2015, we invited Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) to put forward proposals for investment in primary care infrastructure in future years.
CCG should start to prepare submissions based on the broad criteria set out in October and their local estates strategies and digital roadmaps. Submissions should request financial support for investment in premises or technology which will increase the capacity of general practice and out-of-hospital care. We will publish more detailed guidance on the criteria by the end of February and CCGs should submit proposals towards the end of April
