Candidates in Somerton & Frome must say who they represent
Currently, some of the General Election candidates in this constituency are at least partially hiding their party allegiances. Some political literature, property and party funded vehicles, for example, do not currently clearly identify the political parties being represented by candidates. We demand that all literature, property and vehicles use full official party logos, identity and colours - including the official name of their party - in order to convey clearly to the local electorate the allegiance of each candidate.
Why is this important?
Voters are being deceived as to the party allegiances of at least some candidates. One candidate has clearly positioned himself as an "independent campaigner" while actually being heavily funded by political interests of a single party. This is dishonest and deceitful.
For democracy to work, we all need to be completely clear of the the allegiances and potential future actions of all candidates.
