Cap political donations at £1,000 and give every voter £4

We are calling on the UK Government to:

  •  Introduce a legal cap of £1,000 on political donations from any individual or organisation
  •  Create a £4 “civic voucher” for every voter to allocate to a political party of their choice

These changes would ensure political funding comes from millions of voters, not a small number of wealthy donors, making our democracy fairer and more representative

Why is this important?

I keep coming back to one simple question:

What kind of country are we leaving behind?

Not just for ourselves but for the next generation.

Right now, it feels like money speaks louder than people in politics. A small number of very wealthy donors can give huge sums, while most of us have little real influence beyond voting every few years.

That does not feel like the kind of democracy we are taught to believe in.

I think about how this looks from the outside or how it might look in 20 years’ time. Will people look back and wonder why we accepted a system where wealth could shape political influence so heavily? Will they ask why we did not try to change it?

This is not about any one party or politician. It is about all of us.

It affects anyone who feels their voice does not carry the same weight as someone with deep pockets. It affects trust in politics. And it affects the kind of future we are building.

Because if people start to believe that money matters more than their voice, that is when democracy really starts to weaken.

I do not want to look back and feel like we saw the problem but did nothing.

That is why this matters to me.

How it will be delivered

Once sufficient public support is reached, signatures will be formally delivered to Members of Parliament, relevant parliamentary committees, and political party leaders.
