Why is this important?
To prevent the undermining of living standards and conditions of workers in the UK

"Amazon delivery drivers regularly work "illegal" hours and receive less than the minimum wage, it has been claimed. Drivers for agencies contracted by the internet giant told an undercover reporter they were expected to deliver up to 200 parcels a day.
Some admitted breaking speed limits to stay on schedule, while others said time was not allowed for toilet breaks."
The government tells us that employment figures are doing well, but don't explain that many jobs are zero hours with low and minimum pay rates. This situation undermines workers ability to plan and budget and in many cases causes hardship. The situation with Amazon is at the hard end of this, causing social and financial hardship. The law needs to be changed so that people work for Amazon, thus gaining employee rights, with adequate breaks, holidays and decent pay.
