Change the 1979 Rule
I would like Paragraph 19 of the CICA claims guide to be changed
What it means is that if you were abused by someone you live with and it happened prior to Oct 1979 you will not be entitled to any compensation.

Why is this important?
I was sexually abused by my father from the age of 7 to 15 which was 1979
My father was charged for this last month (july 15) and jailed for 24 years.
Although I hid this for many years I have suffered all my life with the effects of
what happened to me as a child. After the court case I was advised to make a claim to the CICA which I did and it was rejected, because I lived with my assailant and the abuse ended before the 1st of October 1979.
