Change the national anthem

Change the national anthem to something more relevant, meaningful and modern that will be sung with pride by the people of England.

It should be replaced with 'Don't look back in anger' by 'Oasis'

Why is this important?

The modern day national anthem has much less importance and relevance as it did a long time ago. A lot of people do not associate with the monarchy and the song is therefore not inclusive to those who wish to show their love for the country, without having to praise an age old system that has no power and is all for show. Evidence of this can be seen all over the country, from places such as sporting events, funerals and in times of remorse or love. Therefore the national anthem needs to be something that can summarise what it's like to be British and get every one to be proud of this great nation. The song to replace it would be 'Don't look back in anger' by 'Oasis' and it is the perfect replacement. The song is extremely well known by all ages and when it is sung by large groups of people it is truly spine tingling and heart pounding. The true meaning and influence of this song can simply be seen through its choice as the song to show the nations reaction to the atrocities in Manchester and London. The song has more meaning then the current day "God save the queen" which praises and glorifies the Monarchy, as the songs title itself represents what it is to be British as it reflects the attitude of the wonderful people of Britain when it comes to unforgivable acts of horror. Also itwould not only include everyone into the celebration of their country but also be much more relevant in the modern time. Thank you

How it will be delivered

We plan to raise enough signatures and social media awareness so that the Government have to discuss the topic in the House of Commons, which will hopefully lead to the movement becoming recognised and will end with the change of the national anthem
